Water that falls
I think this date will remain a "bad day" in our history for eons. I just can't be sad though. Today I did what I believe is right. I enjoyed life. I spent a wonderful day, in the great outdoors, with my loving family, and took a moment to know that good will always float to the top.
Got up early and fiddle faddled our way out of the house. Drove up to the pass and a bit over. Hiked to Sardine falls. Weather was perfect...sunny, warm, cool breeze. A-man loved being in his backpack. Everything smelled like sage (except the cow poop, of course). Ate lunch at the falls. Was feeling the altitude afterwards, so dribbled stream water on my neck, face, and arms. Stood on a rock in the stream and let the breeze cool the water. Felt like for that moment all is good in the world.
Came back to dinner, and quick phone call to the authorities (Mr. Rockthrower was yelling again). Sat all together for a long time, and Poppy told stories of his youth I had never heard before.
A good day.
Happy B-day to the other Auntie!
