This should be the tale of my thirtieth year.

Rocketship Headache

That's right...that's what I had today! I really MUST stop being sick! I can't imagine what it has been like for Homie K.

We left the house today around 2:00 (me, trying not to puke). We decided we had to get away from the beep, beep, beeping of the UPSs. They were going nuts because the power went out. It stayed out for six or so hours in quite a large area. We have searched the news, but still don't know why. We went shopping in an area that still had power, buying mostly books for A-man and some flannel sheets for Poppy.

I love Loretta Lynn for so many reasons, but in particular I love that she still calls her mommy "Mommy".

We managed to go by and pick up some rolls of pictures and slides that had been sitting around for a while. I didn't take any pictures today, but I scanned a few of the ones I picked up. I think it still counts, since they were part of the visual stuff in my world today. I told Mammy that I sure hope I end up getting hitched to a fella that says, "Hey honey, let's have martinis and watch some of your slides tonight.".

During my insomnia last night, I finished The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. It was really good. Cgrace, is it you that kept telling me to read her stuff?

I have very vague memories of the last Mt. St. Helens eruption. Someone brought Susan and I two tiny jars of ash when we were tiny. It wasn't until I was well into adulthood that I knew about how much destruction had happened. As some of you know, I am slightly afraid of volcanoes and earthquakes, so watching the progress of the current situation is fascinating, thrilling, and slightly scary. There are many people near by, and though the scientists say not to expect any huge explosions, I don't trust that big belching heap to do as told. Who knew volcanoes had an "e" in it?

I probaly did recommend Lahiri to you, her book od shorts stories really good as well. I am glad to hear you are feeling better but am sorry that you have been sick for so long. Whose Homie K--give me a hint, not the name.
Any news from the gym about the massage space?
It took me a while to remember when that photo of the three of us was taken.

Homie K lives here, and is the Mom of Homie A. I had forgotten about the New Years pictures. :-) It was cool for them to show up now.
