Dear deer
Almost every day I have been here, at least one deer has come right up to the house. You can yell at them and talk to them and they mostly just look at you funny. They will run off after a few minutes. They have devoured most of the plants from spring (along with the HOT, DRY weather). They love the apples falling off our tree. I hope they don't like the left over gassy eggs!
All afternoon the clouds have been building. It is very pretty to see them on the horizon, but they make me nervous. Out here they mean fire danger.
Must really get on with my paperwork, but this bug or whatever it is keeps knocking me on my butt! Eek.

Thank you Martha Stewart
Sometimes a gal just needs to eat some eggs. Sometimes this gal has had food poisoning at least once in her life. Sometimes this gal reads emails from her friends with tidbits of Martha Stewart knowledge. Thank goodness! Martha Stewart says the way to check to see if an egg is bad is to put it in water and see if it floats.
The first clue was an expiration date in May....it is August. The eggs were floating. Mammy, being a smart, smart woman suggested a rousing game of throw the eggs off the deck. I have played toss the oranges, lemons, apples, pumpkins, etc., but never eggs. It was fun!
We turned the living room into the new dormitory, and "my" old room into Dad's new office. Give us some time, and we'll open a hostel.
Glad to see Jillo is back in IN. I know she and Ms. C are gonna have great school years!
Sorry to see how hard Charlie hit FL! Can't help but think global warming, chem dependent society had something to do with it.

Thanks, thanks, and more thanks...
First, don't you LOVE Jillo's picture of my new boyfriend and his FABOO car?
I didn't write anything yesterday because I was fighting a headache all day...ON MY 30th BIRTHDAY!
Oh well, it was ok and I took lots of naps and watched TV.
I saw the extended version of John Lennon's Imagine. He really was a force. It made me sad a bit and happy a bit, and REALLY made me want to download some music.
Went to the chiro this morning. She asked if I was getting any oxygen. I said, "I don't know, am I?" I already knew I wasn't getting enough. So here I sit looking out at the beautiful mountains, and I would like to make a resolution...get more oxygen. Period.
Came home to find Mammy unable to get the new phone line installed, but she made me laugh. She had on quite the outfit, and I have to love that about her. She really just couldn't care less what other people think about stuff like that. YAY Mom!
Off to work on my marketing materials. Want to say super duper thanks for all the great well wishing messages. I feel VERY loved! Hugs and smooches to all!

Best Ever
Well, if you count Eastern Standard Time, I turned thirty about 25 minutes ago. Woo woo.
I have to say, I have the best friends and family EVER!! I love all my prezzies! You all the best, sweetest, most thoughtful, etc., etc. EVER!
Had minor meltdown this morning. Must be the hormonies. Felt better afterwards, and had a fun day of driving to the city, Walnut Creek, and mama's, while listening to the Beatles, the Pixies, Dixie Chick, and Otis Redding. Stange combo? NAH!
Photos tomorrow.
XOXO

Sick Day
Yesterday was sort of a waste day. Woke up with a headache, and puked. Went back to bed. Visitors came and I was a bit too out of it to do much. Watched some interesting episodes of "The Human Baby". Very nifty to see them work with the babies to determine when they begin to do certain things.
A-man seemed a bit "off". He woke up a few times in the night coughing and crying. He has his first cold, poor guy. The last waking was at around 5:30 AM. I couldn't go back to sleep for a couple of hours. I had a strange dream about visiting P & M. They lived in a spectacular multi-floor apartment/house. Old, sort of library like. Lots of windows, great stair cases, and dark wood trim. They were having a huge party. Many hip guests and lots of music. Each room seemed to be filled with collections of books and asian antiques that were being wrapped up for moving. Caught up with P at some point and he explained a lot of these pieces as I got the nickel tour. M didn't say much and seemed in a Mona Lisa smile state. When it was time to go, I had the awful not wanting to say good bye feeling. Then I left and couldn't find my car.
Having more of a TV day than I should. Caught the ends of two documentaries. The first was about a woman named Anna Mae something. A Canadian native woman who worked with AIM in the 70's and was murdered (most likely by AIM for supposedly being and FBI informant). Learned a lot about the situation and it made me remember more about my own. The other was about the Pixies. I'll say it again...they are absolutely one of the best ever.

Fog Days
Mammy and I got scooted out of the house on Friday, so we headed into the city to play with the Homies. After opening my new account and getting my second parking ticket in two weeks, we met K & Little A at the park. We saw lizards and collected some seed pods for their new back yard. We had take home and then Mammy watched A while us kids went and saw Garden State. It was a good freshman effort. I love Zack Braff...I really think he's a funny guy. Also, they chose GREAT music. Then I had a dream I was hiking in the snow and kept passing groups of Sr. citizen ladies and worried about them on the snow. Eventually I hiked down a very tall closet and had lunch at a nice restaurant.
Yesterday was waffle breakfast (YUM!) and then a trip to the Ferry Building. Post fruit buying we headed to a very foggy cool beach and flew Big A's new parafoil. Fun!
Now I need to call Mr. J-todd and wish him a happy 23rd! :-)
