This should be the tale of my thirtieth year.

Piggy

Sleepy again today. Worked on brochure write ups, played with A-man, cleaned the bathroom, and visited with the WC Gang.

Getting pretty good at holding tiny babies.

Had (as always) good conversation with the folks in IN. Lord have mercy, if it had only been over coffee. Oh, and Jillo, I love that you were worried about last night's entry, but see...I added a smiley face!

Must call Cgrace.

The in-laws arrive tomorrow and I am off to SF to move the 12th St gang.

Big meetings with the Biz people on monday...all better go smoothly!

Mmmm...that pizza was good!

Introduction

Yes, it is a bit late for any sort of introduction, so I won't actually give you one. It is midnight thirty, and I had to tell you this brief anecdote:

I am thirty years old. I have progressed from sleeping on a mattress in my sister's office to sleeping on a thermarest on her living room floor. I finished up the last few pages of my book, turned out my light, and pulled the covers up. It was then I realized I needed to tinkle (yes, I would have normally said pee, but it seems kind of vulgar when typed). I bargained with myself...told myself I could wait until morning. I snuggled deeper into the blankets and tried to forget my night cap tea had lumpy milk in it. Then I heard it...an ascending "ding, ding, ding". It wasn't my new cell phone. A-man has a baby "piano" that, when ignored for more than a few minutes will go "ding, ding, ding". When left alone for hours and then touched it will do the same thing. Guess who's foot had nudged the piano. After the third "ding, ding, ding" I resigned myself to my fate...I'm a thirty year old, sleeping on a blow up mat on her sister's living room floor, getting up to pee after midnight because her nephews toys won't leave her alone. :-)
Night all...I love you.

Baby Fists

Was up early and at the chiropractor. I love mine. I think everyone should have a good one. She is in the process of becoming a neurological chiropractor, and it rocks. She does all these tests to see how certain nerves are responding, and this tells her what is out of whack. There are three things I love in particular:
1. She makes me feel very taken care of.
2. She readily admits she doesn't know everything.
3. She works through solutions out loud and talks to me about them.

Spent the day working, taking care of the baby, and packing to return to S & B's. Had nice dinner at Tapas place. Was great to dine out with the fam, and as always, everyone loved A-man.

On our way out of town there was a small wildfire. A surveillance plane was flying around and a helicopter was dumping water on the fire. S was freaking out. It turns out she has never seen a wildfire before, nor the equipment involved with fighting one. I thought she was going to drive off the road. It suddenly occurred to me what different lives we have lead. I have seen many wildfires now, in many states. Weird.

Fire, moon, auto parts.

Turns out Mammy is quite the architect/builder.

Best

Good day. All meals together with the family. Put up the screen room on the porch so we could eat together sans yellow jackets. Got a lot of paperwork taken care of. Tried to take two naps, both of which were interupted with the noises of family.

I really do have the best friends ever. They take such good care of me. I hope I can do a fraction of the good deeds for them that they do for me.

Off to have a cup of tea, a cookie, and some more paperwork time.

Good night all.

Daddy

Had a crazy dream last night/this morning. Was upset (maybe with Mom and Dad). Had Mom drop me off on a mountain road. I think she said, "I can't just leave you here". I started walking and came upon a semi-restricted event. In the parking lot there were people with booths/tents set up, selling things. I was allowed in. It turned out to be some sort of Native American protest or meeting. It was about a river/lake. I sat on the edge of a shallow ravine (with the lake/river below) with some others. After listening to a woman giving a speech I was watching the fish in the water. They were all brightly colored, small, pillowy fish.

Eventually I realized I needed to leave. I think I must have called and asked someone to come and get me. I went back out to the parking lot. The vendors there were terrible and menacing. They were the hangers on... selling made in China fake indian/mexican crap. I was just walking past the last one when I saw Bryn walking up. As I turned around the guy grabbed my butt. I was furious. I turned around, raised my fist, and yelled, "What the ****?". He looked so scared, walked backwards, and fell over. I felt very smug and said, "See, I can knock you down without even touching you." I whipped around and Bryn and I walked off. We were trying not to laugh. Very strange, but I felt very strong.

Was up at 6:51 AM. Zoomed down to the city, grabbed a bookcase, and headed to see the 'rents. After a few stops for supplies, I arrived. (Watched the signal strength on my new phone...only a few dead spots, including the house) Susan had beaten me by a few minutes, so here we are...all together again. Also, found out my permit went through, so I must work like a mad woman for the next few days. Woowee!

Oh and no pictures because this girl forgot her camera cable.

The Communicator

Was sleepy today. Played with Homie A quite a bit and did dishes. I feel a bit bad that I wasn't contributing enough, but things seemed to progress nicely. Will head back in the AM to snatch a bookshelf for Poppy.

Watched the Barbarian Invasions last night. Nice, but quite sad.

Our park trip today was more subdued. We fed many squirrels, saw some quail, and then a very plaintive "Mama?" was uttered and we headed home.

Will head up the hill tomorrow to see Poppy...am VERY excited!

Plans were canceled on account of germs.

This is what moving will do to you!

That song is stuck

Woke up kind of late this morning. Got squeezed, kissed, and crawled on by the cutest guy in the neighborhood. I scurried to get ready for my triumphant return to the life of a packer. Actually it turned out to be more playing with Homie A than packing, which was fun. We chased each other around (I really love it when I can make a kid scream and giggle with delight) and then went to the park and fed the squirrels. I feel kind of bad when I don't take the time to explain to people that I'm not the Mom. Oh well.

Plans have been made, which makes me feel better. Mammy and Poppy should be in CA by tomorrow or the next day. This is a VERY good thing.
More packing on the horizon!

Sleeping in my salad

Well, sometimes I couldn't be more stupid. I really should know better than to have a big glass of strong tea at 8PM. Anyhoo, I finally got to sleep sometime after three. I would like to think my brain was being very productive during the three hours that I was tossing and turning, but I think the term "spinning my wheels" is more accurate.

Spent a lot of time thinking about how great my pals are despite my flaky nature.

Up around 7:30 or so, and the thankfully typically wonderful breakfast a-la Homie K was enjoyed by all. Was driving back south when it occurred to me that my wallet was still hanging on their coat rack. Uh-oh. At least I used the opportunity to figure out the non-19th way.

Very weary this afternoon, but went for a walk around the neighborhood and to the park. A-man loves the swings! Giggles and giggles. We also met a nice dog named Charlie. I placed a call to my beloved psycho therapy number, and then went in for dinner. Both were great.

Oh, for those of you that are listening, I prefer models and puppets to computer graphics too.

Did the sidewalk read my mind?
