So alive with wild hope now.
Some UOO (unidentified obnoxious caller) woke me up early this morning. It was OK though because we got quite a bit done at the house. Mammy and I menu planned for T-giving. FOOD! We also now have lighting in the attic thanks to Poppy.
Down the hill now.

Biting Ants.
J-bob, you may not want to read this one.
This morning I was up early and headed to my eye doctor appointment. I've had this thing in my right eye for more than a year. This was a return visit because it didn't magically go away just because I wished it to. The Doctor is a very sweet guy, and was more than willing to take a hack at it. I asked if there was a gentler approach...say zapping the "feeder veins". He thought that was a good idea, and might even work. He got one of the other doctors, who was flirty to the point of touching my back on his way out, to also take a "second opinion" look. Laser city. I got some numbzit drops, and then the parade of stinging ants began. It really wasn't bad, just green flashes and some stings. Now I have anti-inflammatory drops, and time to heal this thing.
The drive into town was weird and cool. It was perfectly sunny at the house, and just over the ridge I drove into a cloud, a cloud that was keeping town cold and gray. Over, through, and under. On the way home it was starting to lift.
Finished cleaning off the deck.
Took a walk to the mailbox with Poppy. It was about forty degrees, and I was colder than expected. When I said I needed a hat, Poppy suggested that I didn't need hats when I had all this hair. He was sort of right.
Started menu planning for T-giving. FUN.

On my knees.
I missed SCRUBS! Where is TIVO when I need it?!?
I woke up this morning to see some of my friends sitting around watching TV.
I spent the day scrubing the deck. All I have left is the top of the floor.
It made me tired and a tad cold. When I was finally done I curled up with my laptop. When I tried to sit up, I couldn't. Remember this folks...do your stretches before your scrubing.
I am tired now. Night, night.

I'm not normally afraid of spiders...
...but when I was cleaning off the deck this morning, I found a whopper. It isn't actually that big (fifty cent piece maybe), but it has a scary shape.
That's what I did today, cleaned off the deck, called hematacrit people and got mad, checked blogs, laughed at schmeebot and j-bob, went to the hardware store and dinner with Poppy, chatted with Mr. Urbane, tried to recover from my Joshua Braff inspired case of literary insomnia, and almost forgot to do my blog.
Goodnight.

Load 'er up and move 'er out.
Was up early, cleaned up, packed, managed to drop A-man from my lap onto the floor, and then headed up to see two thirds of the Walnut Creek gang. The Little One was dressed up as a turkey for his first pro photo. He is just too dang cute.
I crammed the car full of stuff...pressure washers, downspouts, and luggage. Then when I got back to the mountains I added deck goop etc. I love my little car that can hold so much.
Glad to be back here with Pappy. Oh, and I broke down and had some coffee..maybe I'll allow one a week.

The color of things past.
Was moving very slowly this morning. Had some strange dreams about a chef I used to know.
Played with the baby and Mammy for awhile, then got a wild hair and took the old upholstery off of one of the Oak Ridge chairs. As I had hoped, the original was underneath. What had formerly been blue woven cloth with a diamond shape has become very faded. Now the search begins.
Finally took off for some retail therapy and ended not buying TOO many bits I didn't need. Mostly I found stuff for others to buy. :-) Oh, and the perfect couch...only $800.
A-man and I went for a quick walk. He only made about two steps at a time before trucks or birds stopped him in his tracks.
Spoke with Ms. C in AZ, was very good, and promise to keep it up.

Cooking salad.
Today was my first of two cooking classes. It was fun. I felt like I wasn't participating as much as normal because I was fighting off a headache. (B-dawg was nice enough to beat me up when I got home, which made it basically go away.) We went to the Los Gatos farmer's market. It was small and very nice. It is truly amazing what will grow in this state in November. Everything is so backwards here...things turn green in the winter.
The cooking class was very nice. The theme was "what you can do with things you find at the farmer's market". We learned some nice dressings, and watching our teacher's knife work was amazing. It was also confirmed that my expensive taste in pots and pans in also good taste. (High end SS All-Clad) I skipped the oysters, but got brown nose points for knowing mignon was "cute" in French. Next week is Fish, so that should be good.
Have I told you about my shocking moment on the scale the other day? Well, I have cut out coffee (because I never have it without sugar) for starters. I miss coffee.
Watched White Christmas when I got home. I was pooped and didn't feel like doing anything else, and that movie ROCKS. I will eventually take dance lessons.
S, B, and I just watched another episode of the Long Way Round. It is on Bravo every Thursday (and gets rerun throughout the week). I highly recommend it!! I am terrible. I was going to call people this weekend, and have never gotten around to it. Just call me evil.
